The reconstruction and construction project of the second track on the Dugo Selo – Križevci railway line, one of Croatia’s most significant infrastructure projects, has entered its final phase. The project aims to enhance railway traffic and further improve regional and international connectivity. Following Dalekovod’s takeover as the lead contractor, the project was successfully consolidated, with completion expected during this year. All works on the Vrbovec – Križevci section have been completed, and rail traffic has been operating on both tracks for some time, while documentation for the technical inspection is currently being prepared. After the new track on the Dugo Selo – Križevci section was fully installed and connected at the end of last year, the Vrbovec – Dugo Selo section was also put into operation. In addition to the railway infrastructure works, a new traffic management and signalling system has been established. The most demanding part of the project relates to the Dugo Selo railway station, where the southern section of the new station was commissioned, bringing approximately 70 percent of all works at the location to completion. The remaining activities include final construction and infrastructure works, such as the completion of the underpass and the first platform, overhead contact line works, and integration into the traffic management and signalling system. Completion of all remaining works is planned by August this year. Upon completion, the Dugo Selo – Križevci railway line will become a modern double-track railway fully adapted to the demands of 21st-century transport, significantly increasing both capacity and traffic reliability. Railway stations in Dugo Selo, Vrbovec and Križevci have been modernised, a new station in Gradec has been constructed, and the project also brings substantial improvements in safety and quality of life along the railway corridor. Dalekovod is also involved in several other railway infrastructure projects, including the Križevci – Koprivnica – state border project, where it is carrying out overhead contact line and electrification works, as well as the Hrvatski Leskovac – Karlovac railway project. In addition, Dalekovod has submitted bids for overhead contact line and electrification works on the Dugo Selo – Novska section, as well as for several projects within the upcoming investment cycle of Croatian Railways.
